High School Opportunities! WCA offers high school students many opportunities for leadership and involvement outside of the classroom. Students can take advantage of a full athletic program for men and women, a nationally recognized fine arts program, and multiple service opportunities through clubs, the Honor Society and Student Council. Challenging Classes! High school students are now taking AP Calculus, AP Literature and AP Composition in addition to many honors courses. Dual enrollment through Cape Fear Community College is available for juniors and seniors. Middle School Excitement! Students in grades 6-8 have their own program designed to meet the unique needs of early teens. They are challenged to excel in an enjoyable environment that encourages responsibility. Extracurricular activities include sports, fine arts, clubs and student council. Elementary Extras! Students in our elementary school go beyond the basics through activities such as accelerated reader, computer classes, choirs, bands, private music lessons, art instruction, physical education, foreign language, and media skills. Elementary Sports! Our intramural soccer program, basketball league, golf league, and cheerleading clinics create athletic excitement. Technology! Our technology initiatives are never just about technology, but rather about how to teach students in ways that engage them, challenge them, and promote depth in their learning. In big and small ways, technology is actually transforming the teaching and the learning at WCA. Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scout Pack 225 and Boy Scout Troop 225 are sponsored by WCA, giving boys the "scouting experience" from a Christian perspective. |
