Office of College & Career Readiness

Wilmington Christian Academy is a ministry that exists to serve families. We desire to see students graduate with a sense of excitement and purpose about stepping into their God-directed futures. The Office of College & Career Readiness, therefore, has the specific task of helping families make informed choices about post-high school options including college, military, or vocational training.


College Advising Services

  • Consultations with students and parents to meet individual needs

  • Information about FAFSA, financial aid, and scholarships

  • Assistance with the college application process

  • Volunteer opportunities

  • Exposure to a variety of colleges through visits and college fairs

  • Preparation for and access to academic and entrance testing, including Pre-ACT 8/9, Pre-ACT, ACT and AP exams.

  • Registration with NCAA Clearinghouse if they plan to participate in college sports

The Christian Connector’s ApplicationU Program makes applying to multiple Christian colleges or universities simple! Students can complete ONE application accepted by approximately 70 Christian colleges and universities. Students can apply to up to 3 Christian colleges for FREE.   • CFCC Vocational department  offers a variety of programs including automotive, carpentry, electricity, plumbing, and welding

  • California Career Zone - It’s from California, but don’t hold that against them.  This is an incredible website for help with assessing your skills and interests, exploring job families, and making financial decisions.  

  • O-net - online occupation search

  • Career Direct - career guidance, advice, assessment

  • ASVAB practice test

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook - from Bureau of Labor and Statistics.  Research occupations based on training required, average pay, number of jobs, growth rate, etc . . .

  • Career One Stop - Take a self-assessment to determine the types of careers that might be right for you.  Explore your interests, skills, and work values.

  • Career Interviews - from Bureau of Labor and Statistics.  Read interviews in Q&A format with workers in a variety of careers.
